MDCG 2021-09 : Position paper on the implementation of UDI requirements for contact lenses, spectacle frames, spectacles lenses & ready readers – May 2021

This position paper is intended to provide further clarification on the implementation of UDI requirements as of May 26, 2021, for contact lenses, spectacles frames, spectacle lenses and ready readers until solutions are finalized.

Contact lenses are expected to have a specific solution that may be extended to spectacles frames. Spectacle lenses and ready readers already benefit from a specific solution, its practical application is yet to be formalised.
